Evolving From the Land, Year: 2018
The JFK Israeli Lounge is a flexible space to accommodate a range of programmatic activities, while its formal gestures evolve from cultural values of Israeli People. It employs delicate variety of cultural interpretations to illustrate subtle declination of the final lounge space. This proposal takes the morphology of Kotel – an ancient limestone wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, where people come together to pray and connect. Introducing the new framework with translucent materials and an inventive lighting system, the design endows the Israeli Lounge an emblematic contemporary experience to its visitors and guests.
